This is what I do during my Wake Up routine that starts at 4am. I'll eventually get into more detail for each one, but for now, a simple summary is below.

  • Measure my HRV - 5-10mins

    Your HRV (Heart Rate Variability) is the time between your heartbeats and it's what I use to determine how hard I exercise. I use an old Polar H7 Bluetooth Heart Rate sensor strap and the Elite HRV iPhone app.

  • Meditate - 5-20mins

    I meditate in a bunch of different ways depending on what I need to focus on. Sometimes it's in silence, sometimes it's lead, sometimes I use binaural beats. Whichever way, it helps me greatly.

  • Exercise - 30-60mins

    I exercise at home with some adjustable dumbbells and a bench. I base my workouts on how I'm feeling in the morning and my HRV and I pick from 2 YouTube fitness channels. If I want to do a weights workout I watch Chris & Edi, and if I want to do a cardio / stretching workout, I watch Eleni Fit.

  • Coffee - 5mins

    My coffee is a bit of a mashup. I did bulletproof coffee when it was a thing, and I did the keto diet for many years. I also like to experiement with things I can put in coffee to help me through my day. As a result, my coffee looks like this.

    • 2x Doppio+ hits from my Delonghi Dinamica coffee machine

    • Coconut oil

    • 2-3x mini stevia tablets

    • Shilajit (I'll leave you to Google this, lol)

  • Journaling - 5-15mins

    I use Diarium on my computer. There's an app for mobile too. I really won't get into it too much here but I'll write about goals, what happened yesterday, what I'm hoping will happen today, what I'm grateful for, etc.

  • Work on dexeugenio.com - 10-30++mins

    I find I'm most creative in the mornings, so I spend a good deal of time working on the website, blog posts, and ideas.

So that about covers it! I can have a lot of it done within an hour, but most days I take over 2.

For me, I need to do this to feel satisfied with the rest of my day. There simply isnt enough time I can dedicate after this to complete everything I want to, so if I do everything first thing in the morning, the rest of my day is que sera sera and I'm totally fine with that.
